Everything people ask about Let's Slide Twin, the GPS app that talks slang.
What is Let's Slide Twin?
- A GPS app for iPhone that talks slang. It gives real turn-by-turn directions on real maps, in a voice with personality: seven voices and 10 regional slang packs. The screen always shows the exact street name and distance.
When can I get it?
- It's coming soon to iPhone. It isn't in the App Store yet. Get on the waitlist and you'll be the first to know when it drops.
Is there an Android version?
- Not yet. iPhone comes first.
How much is it?
- Your first trip is free. After that, Premium is $9.99/month (the real voices, light ads) and Slide+ is $14.99/month (no ads, exclusive packs, and Talk to Twin when it launches). There is no free trial. You subscribe through the App Store, the subscription renews automatically, and you can cancel anytime in your subscription settings.
Does it say real street names?
- Yes. Turn lines use the real street name, like "In a couple blocks, bust a right on North Orange Avenue, twin." The screen always shows the exact street and distance too.
Which voices can I pick?
- Seven: Julius, Andray, Young Jamal and Tre, or Raven, Aisha and Nylo. You pick one when you set up the app and can switch anytime in Settings.
Which cities have slang packs?
- Atlanta, Houston, New York, Chicago, the DMV, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Detroit and New Orleans, plus a Florida state pack. Everywhere else gets a general pack. Spanish voices are coming soon.
Does it cuss?
- No. It talks with real flavor, but it keeps it clean. Every line in every voice pack is checked for profanity.
Can I turn the slang off?
- Yes. Flip "Keep it plain" and the voice and the whole app switch to standard wording. Same maps, same reports.
Does it work with CarPlay?
- Not yet. CarPlay needs a separate navigation approval from Apple, and the app doesn't support it today. For now it runs on your iPhone.
What maps does it use?
- Mapbox maps and navigation, with live traffic, lane guidance on the highway and rerouting.
Is it real navigation or just a joke app?
- Real navigation on real maps, with traffic, lanes on the highway, rerouting and crowd reports. The jokes are a bonus, not the point.
Does it tell you about police?
- Drivers can report police, wrecks, construction and hazards. Every police heads-up ends the same way: slow down, stay legal. It never tells you to speed.
Are there ads?
- Premium has light ads from local businesses, only on the Home, Route preview and Arrival screens. Never while you're driving, never by voice. Slide+ has no ads at all.
Do you sell my location?
- No. We use your location to navigate and to place your reports on the map. We don't sell it. Read the Privacy Policy for the details.
I make music. Can I get played?
- Local and independent artists can sign up at artists.letsslidetwin.app. Drivers in your city hear a short preview on Home and Arrival (never mid-route) and tap through to your Spotify or Apple Music.
Who's it for?
- Drivers 18 and up who'd rather hear a friend in the passenger seat than a robot reading street names.
See it handle the road.
